We are a community group of volunteers who work to improve the environment in the Penmaenmawr area. We work from Penmaenan to Capelulo.
We very much welcome new volunteers. Visit our facebook for more information.
We have won a level 5 outstanding award in the 'Wales in Bloom' competition, the only town in Wales to receive this level award. As such we also received a second certificate 'of distinction' which means automatic entry to 'Britain in Bloom'. 'Wales in Bloom' would like us to enter a higher category next year, however to do this we need more volunteers, as this would mean more planting/maintaining the displays. Penmaenmawr Community Environment Group ('Pen in Bloom') held the presentations for the 2017 Garden Competition on Saturday 15th July at 'Bettys' cafe in Penmaenmawr. The competition has been held since 2007, when the group took over responsibility for floral displays in Penmaenan, Pant yr Afon and Dwygyfylchi from Penmaenmawr Town Council. On presenting the awards John Good (one of the judges) commented on the range of gardens and floral displays entered this year, reminding everyone that a large area was not a necessity for beautiful displays as evidenced by some of the entries, notably the very small garden, hanging baskets & planter’s category.
